First Responder Emergency Medical Training
Public Safety Diving, LLC provides training and certification through the Diver Alert Network (DAN+) and the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) in the following specialized areas. Courses provide the latest theories and techniques and are tailored to all individuals, not just those who operate within the aquatic environment. Please contact us directly for additional course information or to schedule training courses. Training is provided throughout the year. Upon successful completion, students will receive course completion cards for the specific course mastered.
CPR
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation – The goal of the CPR course is to provide individuals with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective basic life support in an emergency. Some of the topics covered include Adult CPR, Child & Infant CPR, Foreign Body Airway Obstruction, and Special Considerations for Resuscitation. Course fee: Please contact instructor
A.E.D.
Automated External Defibrillation – Having personnel on- site that are trained in the use of Automated External Defibrillation (AED) provides the victim with rapid defibrillation access before EMS arrival, thus greatly increasing the chance of victim survival. Training includes recognition of unresponsive victims, equipment operation and maintenance, and hands-on practice to increase skill. This course is normally run in conjunction with the above CPR course and is included in the above price.
Oxygen (O2) Provider
Emergency Oxygen Administration – Serious and life- threatening medical emergencies often cause oxygen to be depleted in the body leaving the victim at risk for cardiac arrest or brain damage. Supplemental oxygen is the critical step in treating severe or life-threatening illness or injury. Course price: Please contact instructor
Basic First Aid
Properly applied first aid can save lives, reduce recovery time and quite possibly mean the difference between temporary disability or lifelong disability for the victim. This program provides recognition in the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Topics include bleeding, shock, burns, sprains, fractures, allergic reactions, diabetic shock and seizures. This course satisfies the requirements of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and can be used for community or workplace programs. Course price: Please contact instructor
Bloodborne Pathogens
This course includes information that will help provide an understanding for what bloodborne pathogens are and how risks of exposure can be reduced for themselves and others. This course satisfies the training requirements of the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030). Course fee: Please contact instructor
